SPRING CLEANING … the mind

Spring is here and so is the annual spring clean-up after successfully surviving another Maine winter. It’s time to rake lawns, remove winter debris, get lawn mowers going, clean out the garage and tackle spring cleaning indoors and out. It’s a seasonal routine we Mainers know all too well, but there is something refreshing about swinging open the windows and letting the spring air circulate through the house (and no black flies as of yet). Spring cleaning of the mind is just as important as spring cleaning your house. The mental dust and buildup of ego-complications need to be deep cleaned every once in a while just to keep up with life’s constant demands. This week’s talk is on spring cleaning your mind; four ways to keep your spiritual life fresh and sparkling. We also have Travis James Humphrey with us sharing a spring-time song from the coast of Maine. Have a great week-end everyone and I hope you can join us for the UUHoulton weekly service.

The recorded service will be available to view at 10AM on Sunday morning and archived so it can be watched later at your convenience. I will send out the service link to YouTube later today and the link will be live on Sunday morning at 9:45AM (in case you want to come to the service early). If you subscribe to our YouTube channel you can locate it automatically on your YouTube home page under subscriptions. The 10AM service will be followed by a Zoom coffee hour and check-in at 11AM for those who are interested in discussing the service or just want to check in. I’ll send the Zoom links out later today.

Practice patience and kindness.

In Ministry,

Dave

Here is a new feature on the Support Page that we launched a couple of weeks ago. During zoom coffee hour people often share interesting movies, books or music they’ve recently discovered so we thought we would provide space to post one selection (or two) a week.

Disk Jockey Turntable

This week’s DJ: Dave

Nora En Pure (her stage name) is a young DJ and musician from Switzerland who is this week’s feature on the turntable. Daniela Di Lillo was born in South Africa in 1990 and has been recording and performing music since she was a teenager. Today’s two-hour music mix was shot by her film crew in a gorge in Graubunden, Switzerland. The scenery is stunning!

Joys & Concerns

When one of us is blessed we are all blessed.
When one of us experiences sorrow we all feel the pain.

HAPPY MAY DAY!

The annual canoe race is on this May Day (Saturday May 1, 20221) in Houlton. Grab a paddle!

Please continue to send in joys and concerns during the week to revdav@mfx.net and I will post them on the Support Page.

The joy or the sorrow of one is shared by all. May our hearts be as one on this day. Let us carry each thought or concern expressed in our heart and may the light of our love and compassion transform suffering into non suffering and ease the difficulties of life. We radiate love and the light that we are. Blessed are we all.
