This is the third Sunday of Lent (already) and we continue our series on Belonging with part eight, “Holding Your Own Space.” If you seem to remember this being the topic on the First Sunday of Lent, you are correct. It was so darn cold (see the minister’s picture taken during the service included in this week’s Support Page) that the topic was put on hold for a warmer date. Here is the description of the service topic “Holding Your Own Space.”

It is important to maintain your own independent identity even when a member in a larger group context. How do I hold my own space within a shared community space (even if I disagree at times) and still feel a sense of belongingness? We look at a case study of the minister’s experience serving on a jury this past year and the challenges and rewards of working in a group where the members don’t always agree. 

Our YouTube service this week is led by Rev. Dale Holden (on the piano and in the pulpit!) on a Lenten theme titled “Help and Holy GPS!” Special music is provided by the Unitunes and a solo by Rosalind Morgan.  Please join us for one of the services this weekend. 

We are also celebrating March birthdays and anniversaries during this week’s coffee hour. Mary and Marion Blocher are hosting the party with a special cake and goodies. We are in the process of building a list/data base of everyone’s birthday and anniversary in the congregation so we can recognize these special dates each month of the year. We’d also like to include this information in the next church directory which will come out in the Spring. You will find a sign-up list in the coffee room to submit your info. We have one birthday/anniversary listed for March so far…Happy Birthday Jim Coffin!! If you happen to have a birthday or anniversary in March, let us know and you will be one of the special guests at Sunday coffee hour.
