Daffodils in May  (2023)
The daffodils have finally arrived! There is nothing that charges my soul like the flash of bright yellow on a green lawn. The above photo is from my mother’s flower bed in front of her house. Now I’m ready for spring to kick into high gear.

This week’s Sunday service is themed on material from Neil deGrasse Tyson’s latest book, Starry Messenger; Cosmic Perspectives on Civilization. This is the second of two books that we have featured this year on our topic of Belongingness.

In a world this large, what is our sense of belonging? In a universe this immense, the question of belonging becomes even more interesting. Come and explore with us.

The title of the message is “Cosmic Perspectives.” Special music for the service is provided by Ira Dyer, one of our Houlton Coffeehouse regular contributors. For a change of pace we thought we’d book him for a Sunday morning. 

The YouTube Channel service for this week celebrates 

May Day or Beltane, one of eight Sabbats that falls halfway between the spring equinox (Ostara) and the coming summer solstice (Litha).  Leigh and Fred Griffith lead the service joined by many dancers weaving around the maypole afterwards.
